Ayahuasca Center · Tamshiyacu
Ayaselva is a small, family-owned healing center in the peaceful jungle of Tamshiyacu, close to Iquitos, Peru. We work with passion, care, and respect for the medicine. To give each guest personal guidance and close support, we host a maximum of six guests at a time.
What Ayaselva is striving for
Our mission is to offer sacred medicine in a safe, personal, and caring setting. Through this work, guests are invited to reconnect with themselves, release what no longer serves them, and begin a lasting process of reflection, insight, and personal growth.
Our intimate setting allows us to know each guest well and offer close support throughout the process. Guests quickly feel at home and become part of the Ayaselva family.
You stay in a comfortable private room with your own restroom, surrounded by the beauty and stillness of the jungle — a private space for your own reflection.
With vast experience supporting people through trauma, addiction, depression, or deep emotional questions, we offer a nurturing environment where you feel safe, cared for, and guided at your own pace.
Before joining, every guest completes an intake so we can make sure the retreat is safe and right for them. We believe that real care happens in a small setting, with personal guidance before, during, and after the ayahuasca ceremonies.

An authentic and heartwarming stay. Not commercial like many other places. Highly recommended!
A deeply healing experience and a truly powerful ayahuasca journey, in a peaceful place to heal.
One of the most profound experiences of my life. The Maloka is a work of art.
Our retreats
A retreat at Ayaselva includes much more than the ceremonies themselves. We focus on preparation, personal guidance, rest, sharing, nature, and integration.

Our team
We work as a caring family, with many years of knowledge and experience in guiding people through deep personal processes.
Curandero
Raised in Tamshiyacu, of Mestizo lineage, with extensive experience in Peruvian plant medicines. A humble healer who sees himself as an intermediary between the spirit world and the earthly world.
Co-founder & facilitator
Born and raised in Iquitos. Healed through ayahuasca at 17, she dedicated her life to the medicine and to creating a place to help others heal and share love and peace.
Co-founder
Born in the Netherlands, an engineer by background. Ayahuasca transformed his life and perspective. With Vanesa, he created Ayaselva to share this medicine with others.
Our family also includes Denisse, who prepares diverse and delicious meals within the ayahuasca diet, and Elva, Vanesa’s mother, whose deep knowledge of medicinal plants supports our guests’ healing.
Meet the whole familyHealth & safety
Ayahuasca is a powerful plant medicine that affects both the body and the mind. For many people it can be a meaningful and well-tolerated experience, but it is not suitable for everyone. Certain medications and medical conditions can create risks. Before joining, every guest completes a confidential health questionnaire and a personal call, so we can determine together whether ayahuasca is safe and right for you.
In some cases — including certain medications (SSRIs, MAOIs, antipsychotics), cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, a history of psychosis, or pregnancy — drinking ayahuasca is not advisable. We will always be clear and upfront with you about this.

A maximum of six guests at a time. This intimate setting lets us know each guest well and offer personal guidance and close support throughout the process.
We are a small, family-owned center in the peaceful jungle of Tamshiyacu. Unlike large commercial retreats, we stay small on purpose, so each person receives real care, attention, and support — and becomes part of our family.
Two programs: a 12-day retreat with 7 ayahuasca ceremonies for a fuller, deeper experience, and a 7-day retreat with 4 ceremonies for guests who have less time available. Both are complete and carefully guided.
We are in Tamshiyacu, near Iquitos, Peru. We pick you up from Iquitos airport, you rest a night in Iquitos, and the next morning we travel together by boat to Tamshiyacu and on to the center. We handle all the logistics, so you feel guided from the moment you arrive.
Ayahuasca can be a powerful and safe tool for healing in a proper setting, but it is not suitable for everyone. Certain medications (SSRIs, MAOIs, antipsychotics) and conditions (cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, a history of psychosis, pregnancy) are contraindicated. Every guest completes a confidential intake so we can determine together whether it is safe and right for them.
Contact us through the website and we will schedule a personal call with you first. This lets us answer your questions, discuss your history, and make sure ayahuasca is right for you before anything is confirmed.
Have a different question? Talk to us — we always reply personally.
We always plan a personal call together — to answer your questions, discuss your history, and make sure a retreat is right for you. There is no pressure, only clarity and a genuine welcome.
